The basis for this rare piece is an antique rice mortar from a village on the island of Java. The age of the rice mortar for the coffee table presented here is likely between 70 and 100 years.
With this rare coffee table, you receive a piece of true history. In the past, the farmers of Indonesia used to pound the harvested rice by hand before it was stored for the time after the harvest. Nowadays, this is already done mechanically by mobile service providers and motorized threshing machines.
