Unmatched coffee table „Roots“

This extraordinary coffee table „Roots“ was carved by hand from an old tree root (Teak wood). Since each tree root and each tree stump has different shapes, each coffee table from the „Roots“ series is a unique one-of-a-kind. The tree roots come from reforestation areas on the island Java in Indonesia, where today the remnants of the former irresponsible deforestation of the forests are being removed from the ground to make way for a new forest area. Unfortunately, this beautiful material is often processed into firewood and charcoal. Nevertheless, there are some small family businesses that create interesting items from these tree roots. Sculptures and decorative elements are manufactured. In one of these companies, this beautiful coffee table was created.
