A large dining table can also be sustainable

The topic of sustainability confronts us daily, and we must recognize that we should think about it,… because dining tables made from recycled wood, like this DEEP ISLAND, not only store a lot of CO2 but also protect existing forests.
This large dining table for 10 people was made entirely from recycled and recyclable materials. The tabletop for this dining table was made from recycled solid wood planks that were originally intended for charcoal production. The planks consist of Teak wood and come from old houses and bridges on the islands of Java and Bali. The table frame in the shape of a crescent was handcrafted from raw steel. By utilizing recycled wood, 300 kg of carbon dioxide were saved, as each cubic meter of wood releases 1000 kg (1 ton) of CO₂ when burned/charred. With this dining table for 10 people, you are thus making a significant contribution to the preservation of our nature. There is actually no reason to use fresh wood from the forest. When we look at recycled wood with the human eye and imagine the decades-old history behind it, each individual table gains a new character.
