The OLD ELEMENTS series shows how this works: Every living room table from our house is made from recycled wood and features a handcrafted glass insert between the two inner live edges. This creates a piece of furniture that combines authenticity and style – and gives your home a very special touch.

What makes the living room table a special piece of furniture?

The story of the wood

This extraordinary Coffee table is made from recycled wood (teak). Teak is known for its durability, stability, and resistance to weather influences,… and of course, teak has an extraordinary wood grain. However, what truly makes this table unique is its story. The wood used Teak wood comes from old buildings such as abandoned houses, barns, or bridges. By reusing this wood, the old wood gets a second chance to continue its story in your living room.

A look at the OLD ELEMENTS reveals the natural live edge, which gives it a rustic yet modern touch. The Live edge is the natural, unprocessed edge of the wood, emphasizing the organic origin of the material. Each table thus becomes a unique piece, as the shape and contour of the live edge vary with each tree trunk. This characteristic not only imparts a unique aesthetic to the living room table but also reminds us of the natural beauty of the wood, which was already used in its original form with a live edge.

Traditional craftsmanship and durability

The production of the OLD ELEMENTS requires craftsmanship and love for the material. Our carpenters shape and process each piece Wood individually, just as they did hundreds of years ago, to highlight the natural properties while creating a stable and functional coffee table. The focus of the carpenters not only contributes to the uniqueness of each table but also to the durability of the piece of furniture, which will adorn your living room for decades due to its timeless design.

Another important aspect that makes this living room table special is its sustainability. By using 1. recycled teak wood wood from old buildings, it contributes to reducing wood consumption and minimizes the ecological footprint. The reuse of old wood is not only environmentally friendly but also gives old materials a new purpose.

Unique living room table OLD ELEMENTS

The living room table OLD ELEMENTS is not just any table from the furniture store, but a true design highlight made of solid wood. Like a river, a 10 mm thick glass plate runs through the solid teak wood, creating the impression of a riverbed. The two glued planks have a thickness of about 5–6 cm and are firmly screwed to the table frame made of brushed stainless steel. The table frame, custom-made for each table, is made of brushed stainless steel and provides a contrasting emphasis to the naturalness of the wood. The surface of the wood has been hand-brushed and then waxed. This wonderful living room table is a production in collaboration with a talented young designer from a small family business in Java, who implemented the idea of creating a table with a natural live edge from recycled wood entirely by hand. With our support, this unique designer table was realized.
