Sustainable dining tables and coffee tables made from recycled wood
In furniture production, use recycled wood is gaining importance. High-quality Dining tables and Coffee tables made from reclaimed wood not only offer an environmentally friendly alternative to new solid wood furniture but also impress with their unique appearance and durability. Our tables are made from reclaimed wood from historical buildings and bridges, from tree stumps from reforestation areas, and from plantation wood from fruit trees.
Each of these materials has its own properties, contributes to resource conservation, and simultaneously preserves the distinctive structure of the wood.
Reclaimed wood from old buildings and bridges
Our Dining tables and coffee tables made from recycled wood come from former structures such as houses, bridges, or barns on the islands of Java and Bali. The wood has been used for decades and is between 70 and 100 years old. For hundreds of years, Teak wood has been an established construction wood, which is considered nearly indestructible due to its own oil content in the wood.
- The tabletops of the dining tables consist of 8 to 10 cm solid, reclaimed wood, which impresses with its high density and stability. Only solid, recycled wood is used. We forgo any substructures or laminations and limit ourselves entirely to an extremely solid construction.
- The surface shows characteristic signs of aging that have developed through long-term use. Typical signs of wear from the past are not hidden but are artisanally highlighted to emphasize the origin of the wood.
- Each wooden plank has been carefully processed to preserve the natural patina. The production of the raw boards is done in purely traditional handwork in small family businesses that we supervise. Only after the raw boards arrive do our carpenters in our in-house workshop refine the material and create such impressive dining tables and coffee tables.
The recycling of this old wood from historical buildings reduces the demand for freshly cut wood and contributes to the conservation of natural forests.
Why is recycled wood so special?
This question can be answered quite simply. Unlike fresh wood, recycled wood has a kind of patina that has developed with the previous use of the wooden beams used. This creates a very special image, making each piece of furniture from old wood a small uniqueness.

Recycled wood :: Sustainable use of tree stumps from reforestation areas
In addition to recycled construction wood, we use tree stumps from reforestation regions that are between 30 and 50 years old. These tree stumps are sliced to create tabletops with unique structures.
- Natural weathering marks and growths in the root wood are preserved and give the tables a distinctive appearance.
- Glass inlays complement and emphasize the organic structures and set special accents.
- By using old tree stumps, the root wood retains its shape instead of rotting unused.
This sustainable wood utilization makes use of existing resources and creates exceptional solid wood tables with individual grain.

Recycled wood from plantation fruit trees – an environmentally friendly alternative
Another sustainable approach is the use of plantation wood from fruit trees. When selecting the fruit tree species, we limit ourselves to the species Suar (legume), Tamarind (legume) and Lychee. Instead of cutting down new trees for furniture, we rely on use recycled wood wood that has already completed a natural lifespan.
These fruit tree species grow on sustainably managed plantations, which means no additional forest needs to be cleared. They offer a resource-saving alternative to classic solid wood.
Traditional processing by local craft businesses
Our Coffee tables and Dining tables made from recycled wood is traditionally prefabricated in small family businesses on Java and Bali. The finishing then takes place in our own workshop, where the surfaces are processed to the highest quality standards.
This craftsmanship ensures that each piece of furniture is a unique item with individual character. Additionally, collaboration with local artisans preserves and promotes traditional craftsmanship.
The use of processed wood also actively contributes to climate protection.
One ton of recycled wood stores up to one ton of CO₂, thereby reducing the ecological footprint of this furniture.
By reusing old wood and tree stumps, no additional CO₂ emissions are caused by clearing and processing new raw materials.
Plantation wood from fruit trees is sustainably managed and helps to conserve natural forests.
