What makes the round coffee table „Sunrise“ so special?

The extraordinary design of the round coffee table „Sunrise“ comes from our house. However, we must adapt our creativity to nature, which alone decides the shape of the respective tree slices.
The individual tree slices are obtained by purchasing old tree roots, which are extracted from the reforestation areas on the islands of Java and Bali. Often the tree roots and the associated tree stumps are already 30–40 years old. A few decades ago, the then trees were used for the production of garden furniture. This irresponsible exploitation of nature resulted in huge deforested areas, which unfortunately are only now being reforested through programs of the Indonesian government. Since teak wood is virtually indestructible, these must now be removed from the ground to give space for new afforestation. We take on this sustainable raw material and not only produce the round coffee table „Sunrise“ from it, but many different models coffee tables and dining tables, that you can order immediately in our online shop „Der Tischonkel“.
