Today we present to you a square coffee table made of wood from the series „Natural Landscape“. Various tree slices from old teak tree stumps were used. The natural tree edges were preserved in the interior of the tabletop,… only the shape of the coffee table was cut square. The gaps created between the tree edges were elaborately worked with glass panels. The square coffee table stands on a frame made of brushed stainless steel.

Square or round coffee tables? Which coffee table suits me?

When choosing a new coffee table, there are already some things to consider in advance. Not every format fits every furnishing style, and not every shape brings the desired advantages.

Basically, the following characteristics can be noted for square coffee tables:

Coffee tables made of wood? How is the topic of sustainability taken into account?

All coffee tables from our company are made from sustainable materials in pure handcraft. Each coffee table is a unique piece in form and appearance.
We prefer the use of recycled teak wood from the islands of Java and Bali. The rectangular coffee table shown in this post was made from tree slices of an old tree stump. Thus, the wood is a waste product that is transformed into unique coffee tables by our extremely creative employees. The tree stumps come from reforestation areas where trees were once ruthlessly cut down to meet the demand for teak garden furniture. Today, the remaining tree stumps are removed from the ground to make way for new vegetation. With our work, we simultaneously protect the climate, as we refrain from using fresh wood, and by reusing the tree stump, the CO₂ stored in it remains bound and is not released back into the air. One should consider that one cubic meter of wood can store up to 1000 kg of CO₂.
