Tree table from the EXPRESSION series – Handcrafted from old tree slices with a natural tree edge

The Tree table from the Series „Expression“ combines traditional craftsmanship with sustainable material use. Made from glued tree slices of old teak tree trunks, this table not only brings an expressive design but also a special story.

The teak tree trunks used come from reforestation areas of the islands of Java and Bali, where large areas were cleared in the 1980s and 1990s for the production of the classic teak folding chair. Today, the 30 to 40-year-old tree stumps and their roots are being removed from the ground again to make way for new vegetation.
In the production of this tree table, care was taken to ensure that the natural Live edge is preserved both on the outside and inside of the tabletop. This was crafted by hand in a traditional manner and refined in the interior of the table with glass inlays that allow a fascinating view into the original structure and history of the wood.
The solid tabletop consists of carefully glued Tree slices with a thickness of 7 cm. Each tree slice brings an individual grain from the area of the tree root, making each table a unique piece.
