Holiday Feeling with Boat Wood & Aluminum

Why wait for your next vacation? With our maritime decoration you transform your home into a stylish beach house. At Tischonkel you won’t find cheap plastic trinkets but authentic materials with history. We combine recycled boat wood that carries the character of old fishing boats with high-gloss polished aluminum for a classy yacht club look.

Highlights: Propellers, Fish & Ship Decor

Our sculptures tell stories from the high seas. Discover massive ship propellers made of aluminum as impressive wall art or hand-carved schools of fish from old teak wood. The rough surfaces of the wood create an exciting contrast to the smooth, cool metal elements. Each piece of boat wood is unique as the old paint layers of the boats are preserved.

Sustainability from the Sea

Our "boat wood" is lived recycling. We use wood from decommissioned fishing boats and give it a second life as a decorative object or piece of furniture. This not only conserves forests but also brings an unmistakable, colorful patina that cannot be artificially created.

Stylishly Combined

Maritime decor doesn’t have to be kitschy. Set targeted accents: a single large diving helmet on the sideboard or a group of driftwood elements on the dining table are often enough to bring the lightness and freshness of the coast into your four walls.

FAQ: Questions about Maritime Decor

What is genuine boat wood?

Our boat wood comes from decommissioned Indonesian fishing boats. The hard tropical wood has been tanned over years by seawater, sun, and wind. It is extremely robust and often still carries the original, peeling paint layers. A real piece of history.

Do aluminum propellers fit on any wall?

Our propellers made of polished aluminum are massive decorative objects with corresponding weight. They visually fit perfectly in lofts, offices, or maritime-styled living rooms. Please ensure a stable wall mounting (anchors/screws for heavy loads) during installation.

Is the decor weatherproof?

Items made of solid boat wood or teak are naturally very weather-resistant and can stand well on the terrace (they weather to a charming grey over time). Polished aluminum items should be protected from prolonged moisture to avoid water stains and maintain their shine.

How do I combine maritime decor?

Maritime elements harmonize perfectly with our natural wood tables. The mix makes it: combine the warm, colorful boat wood with cool aluminum or glass. Complemented by light linen fabrics or blue tones, a modern "beach house look" emerges.

Are there also small souvenirs?

Yes, besides large sculptures, we also offer smaller nautical accessories like wooden fish on stands, small boats, or decor made of shells and stone, which are perfect as gifts for coastal fans.
