How do I clean aluminum trays?
Aluminum trays are easy to maintain. Usually, a soft, slightly damp cloth is sufficient. To preserve the shine on polished surfaces, avoid abrasive sponges and aggressive scouring agents. Please note: Aluminum must not be put in the dishwasher (it darkens).
Are the trays food-safe?
Our metal trays are primarily designed as serving and decorative objects. Dry foods like nuts (in shell) or fruit are no problem. With strongly acidic foods (e.g. sliced lemon, tomatoes), uncoated aluminum can oxidize. We recommend using small bowls on the tray in such cases.
How are the trays manufactured?
We rely on handcrafted work. Many of our aluminum trays are made using traditional sand casting. This gives them a solid quality, a high intrinsic weight, and a lively surface with small irregularities that make each piece unique.
Do iron trays rust?
Trays made of iron or steel sheet can rust with prolonged moisture. Indoors this is usually not a problem. Outdoors or in rustic industrial look, a light rust patina is often a desired stylistic element. Aluminum, however, does not rust.
Are the trays suitable as candle plates?
Excellent. Metal is heat-resistant and fireproof. A metal tray safely protects the surface (e.g. your wooden table) from dripping wax and heat generation. It is the perfect base for Advent wreaths or large candle arrangements.
