A special dining table made of teak wood, the ELEMENTS
Teak wood has been used in shipbuilding for centuries, and many of these ships are still in use today, making this wood particularly suitable for the construction of our dining tables.
Thus, the longevity is more than guaranteed with the one presented today Dining table made of teak wood from the „Elements“ series. The wood comes from old demolished buildings and bridges on the islands of Java and Bali. The processing of the wooden beams takes place in small family businesses, where they are painstakingly glued into solid tabletops. Each component, including the solid wood planks made of recycled teak wood, the table frame made of brushed stainless steel, and the glass plate worked in freehand cut, is produced entirely by hand. A true unique piece of dining table.

Why do we use old teak wood for our dining tables?
Actually, the answer is quite simple. The topics of sustainability and recycling confront us daily,… respectively, wherever possible, these topics should be taken seriously.
According to Javanese and Balinese culture, residential houses are renewed every third to fourth generation, so that new space is given to the next generation. The old house is demolished, and a new house is built. Often, up to four generations live in these houses, and one can experience a unique sense of family cohesion there.
The wood used for our dining tables is therefore between 70 and 100 years old. What interesting stories our dining tables could tell!
But it is not only our interest in history; we are even more convinced that this wood must be preserved. There is no reason to use fresh wood, especially since due to the cultural renewal of houses, there is almost infinite raw material available. Only in this way can we protect the forests and preserve the old wood from burning, as one must keep in mind that every cubic meter of burned wood releases up to 1000 kg of CO₂. By building a dining table from recycled teak wood, we protect our environment in a double sense.
