FAQ: Questions about candlesticks
Are the candlesticks made of real wood?
Yes, many of our candlesticks are made from solid teak root wood or recycled reclaimed wood. These unique pieces are characterized by their natural shape, cracks, and unique grain that make each piece special.
Can I use the lanterns outdoors?
Basically yes. Teak wood is very weather-resistant but develops a silver-gray patina outdoors over time. For metal lanterns, please check whether the material is rust-free (aluminum) or if a rust patina (on iron) is desired as a vintage effect.
Which candles fit inside?
This varies depending on the model. Our large XXL floor lanterns are perfect for thick pillar candles that burn long. Smaller teak arrangements are often equipped with suitable glass inserts for standard tealights.
How do I remove wax residues from the wood?
If wax drips onto the root wood: don’t panic. Let it harden completely. Then you can usually carefully lift it off with your fingernail. Remaining residues can often be briefly warmed with a hairdryer and absorbed with a kitchen towel.
Are glasses included?
For our combinations of wood and glass (e.g. root wood lanterns), the glass insert is usually included. Please pay attention to the exact product description for each item.
