Dining tables of the "Deep Island" series: A fusion of craftsmanship and history
A dining table is not just a piece of furniture, but also a place of encounter. It is the place where friends and family come together to spend time and create memories. However, the dining table of the "Deep Island" series is not just an ordinary table, but a work of art that combines history and craftsmanship.
The "Deep Island" series has become a bestseller in recent years. The tabletop is made of recycled wood from old houses on Java and Bali and has an impressive thickness of 9–10 cm. Due to the age of the wood, which is between 70 and 100 years, each table tells its own story and reflects the culture of the Javanese people. The dining table is not only massive but also durable and resilient,... it is a dining table that the coming generation will remember us by.
There are two types of dining tables in the "Deep Island" series. The first option is a dining table with a completely closed solid wood tabletop without additional decorations. The second option is to equip the surface of the tabletop with individual glass inlays, which are handcrafted in freehand cutting. These glass inlays are selected proportionally to the size of the table and create a connection between the rustic look of the wood and a modern design element.
The crescent frame is clearly the most popular in the "Deep Island" series. Additionally, we offer various table frames suitable for different interior styles. The table frames are available in brushed stainless steel and satin-matte lacquered raw steel in industrial design and perfectly match the design of the tabletop. Furthermore, there is the option of custom manufacturing to adapt the table to your individual needs. If you have any questions about the possibilities of a special order, please feel free to contact us.
Each dining table of the "Deep Island" series is handmade to ensure the highest quality. Production is carried out exclusively by small family businesses on Java and Bali to support local craftsmanship and promote the communities on site.
Example: Dining table from the "Deep Island" series in size 250 x 100 cm with glass inlays
Note: The reclaimed wood used comes from demolished houses and bridges on the islands of Java and Bali. The tabletops are prefabricated on site by a small family business and reworked and sealed after arrival in our in-house workshop. Of course, attention is paid to the naturalness of the waxes used.
