Reclaimed wood is a wonderful material!
The recycled reclaimed wood used for the sustainable dining table "Fusion" comes from old demolished houses and bridges on the islands of Java and Bali. Traditional houses are renewed every fourth generation, and a new house is built for the entire family. Often four to five generations live under one roof in these houses. The wood could certainly tell fascinating stories.
After demolition, the reclaimed wood is collected and sorted piece by piece by experienced craftsmen. For our reclaimed wood dining tables, only the corner posts and the rough structural wood of the houses can be used.
The tabletop consists of glued solid wood beams, which are glued, planed, and sanded entirely by hand. Features from the previous use as structural wood are carefully filled with additional wood pieces. Afterwards, the tabletop is lightly brushed to emphasize the wood's texture and sealed with a neutral furniture wax. The dining table is supported by a half-moon-shaped table base. The use of stainless steel and the industrial-look finishing give the table its distinctive appearance.
Every component of this dining table is created with artistic craftsmanship.
